Artslift is presenting for the second consecutive year the music festival "Sea Songs". Three Aegean islands are celebrating this year too in August the sea in a multi-ethnic music festival dedicated to its legends and songs.

     The Sea Songs project included educational programs for children and took place in Athens, Rethimno, Peloponisos, Kalimnos, and Nea Erithrea. The educational programs were sponsored by the General Secretary of Youth, museums, and schools. A childrens book was published that included some of the work of the children.

     Of the performances which are open to the public bands from Ireland (Galway Belts), Spain, Netherlands (Circadian) and the Canary Islands participate as do local bands from Karpathos and Halki.

     By merely looking at the map of Greece, one immediately sees its double character: land and sea. A character reflected in every aspect of social and financial life, throughout the centuries of Greek history.

     Apart from the combination of the bands with ArtsLift, the non profit organization from Spain ALCA (Asociation Liceo Cultural Acacia), cooperated for the materialization of the programm.

The Festival is dedicated in memory of the artist Theodore Antoniadis and to his father Αntonios.
